Looking at this image I wonder if I would be able as an American to walk up to veiled women and take their picture without hostility as I once did. That's not to say that all the pictures I took in Egypt at that time were conflict free. Many had given me scowls. Perhaps I was too young to be intimidated. Today might be a different story.
