Picture of the Week #192 "Jeff Beck" Los Angeles, California 1972 signed and Stamped

When I directed and produced music videos for Clive Davis and Columbia Records, I had the good fortune to work with legends. Maybe at the time they were just "working" but their longevity showed their talent and created rock and roll history. Here is Jeff Beck one of the greatest guitarists who ever graced a stage. Rock on.

Picture of the Week #191 "Circling Hollywood" Santa Barbara California 1981 Signed and Stamped

I am almost sure that this was taken in a museum because even though I have an excellent visual memory, this image was not in my memory bank. When I was going through my vault of 35mm transparencies I discovered this in the Santa Barbara folder. I know it's mine as the slide number is between other numbers that I did recognize. Anyway, here it is hovering. I facetiously titled it as this town is known for it's aggression.

Picture of the Week #190 "Andy Warhol Coming Out of a Tomato Soup Can" Santa Monica California 1977 / 2012 Signed and Stamped

Recently I revamped this old image of Andy Warhol coming out of a tomato soup can for the Mouche Gallery in Beverly Hills. I had done this image back in 1977 where Andy was in a Beef and Noodle can. When Keiko Noah the owner director of Mouche asked for this image 40" X 60" I tried using the original file but it was not large enough to reproduce clearly. So I reshot the can, only today the cans have pull tops, so Jack Duganne my master printer and I had to photoshop the original cover which also had 19 cents stamped on the lid. The new can cost me $1.39. I also felt that tomato soup was more fitting then beef and noodle.

Picture of the Week #189 "Vintage Chinese Mall" Shanghai, China 1980 Signed and Stamped

From what I hear, scenes like these are gone from the landscape of Shanghai. After all it's been 32 years since I was there. I have this overwhelming curiosity to return to see how much has changed. I have always had great memories of my time there and hope I will not be disappointed. But for now they'll just be memories as we have no immediate plans on returning. But as life goes on, never say never. My wife Ann has not been to China and I have always told her one day we will go. Maybe I'll do a show of "Then" and "Now"? I wonder how different my life would have been if the movie that I was working on then had actually come to reality?

Picture of the Week #188 "Working the Wave" Santa Monica, CA 2010 Signed and Stamped

Driving to my therapist one cloudless Tuesday I looked up to see these workers repairing the symbolic Wave that separates West Los Angeles from Santa Monica. Luckily I was stuck at a light so I grabbed my hip mounted point and shoot and bingo ... here is the result. Not bad for a $100 camera.
