Picture of the Week #400 "Figline Figure" Figline, Italy 1990 Signed & Stamped

I know this is not a very provocative image but my darling wife loved it, primarily for the color, so a happy wife is a happy life. There is something classic about the composition and I will agree with Ann that the color is terrific. My photography doesn't really have a brand, it's all about what I see and sometimes how I feel. Most of my photos are right out of the camera like this one. The more I look at this image the more I agree with my wife that it is terrific.

Picture of the Week #399 "Gustavo Dudamel & Lang Lang" Los Angeles, California 2016 Signed & Stamped

New friends Norman & Barbara Mack who I met at her photography exhibit were kind enough to take us to the Hollywood Bowl to hear this great pianist conducted by the talented Dudamel. We had an extraordinarily beautiful night that was not to hot or cold. I was prepared and brought my vest, which I put on late into the concert. There are large TV screens on the sides of the stage and that is where I captured this image. The only problem is that you see the scan lines from the TV. So when I put this into my computer I persevered and was able to remove the lines so that it would appear that I was on stage with them when I took this. Thank you photoshop.

Picture of theWeek #398 "Two Sadhu" Kathmandu, Nepal 2000 Signed & Stamped

These "Holy Men" by tradition have renounced all worldly possessions. Scissors must have been high on the list. I'm trying to make light of what to us Westerners might be an alien custom. But the people are warm, friendly and peace loving. They live off of donations be it money, food or generous gifts that would support life. I'm not sure if they live in shelters or on the street, They all appeared to be clean and whether they are bathing in the river or have more modern facilities I'm not sure. I presume they use the river. And for me the great thing is that no matter how amateur your camera maybe they are always making a striking portrait come to life.

Picture of the Week #397 "Vyal's Wall" Los Angeles, California 2016 Signed & Stamped

Vyal is one of the incredible street artists that I was fortunate to meet and photograph. He is a big man who appears very intimidating, but a sweetheart once you know him. One day as I was driving home from seeing him I happened down 3rd street and saw one of his incredible street murals. By sheer luck this man came walking by with the checkered umbrella. I jumped out of my car and in the rain I grabbed this shot. It is not photoshopped. This was how it was.

Today, July 4th I received notice that one of my earlier Pictures of the Week titled "Duck Days" won "That Which Makes Me Happy" photo contest on Duncan Miller Gallery's "Your Daily Photograph.com" curated by Daniel Miller. It is for sale at the reduced price of $850. It is from an edition of 10 and is signed & numbered like all of my prints.
