Picture of the Week #383 "Sign Language" Beverly Hills, California 2016 Signed & Stamped

On my usual walk through Beverly Hills last week I noticed this workman up on the roof above a clothing store. As I got closer I grabbed my little point and shoot Canon and got this picture of him looking down. I took a few more and then went on my way. It wasn't until I got home and put them into the computer that I noticed the dynamic of him looking and her stretching. Bingo, I knew it had to be a picture of the week, maybe even one I will add to my series of "Pictures That Make You Smile".

Picture of the Week #382 "The Woofers" Venice, California 2016 Signed & Stamped

This is one of my "Pictures That Make You Smile" Series. I took it last week after I had lunch with an old friend in Venice. I strolled out onto the beach and realized that my biggest collector loves pictures of sailboats. So I walked down what I call the aisle of crazies where you'll never know what you'll encounter and I saw these dog masks sitting on top of T shirt covered mannequins. I only had my small point & shoot camera but had to take their picture. Then I went onto the sand and shot some sailboats. When I got home I sold 6 pictures to my collector client and then manipulated this image by putting them against an afternoon sky. It certainly grabs your attention.

I photographed this woman a number of times being made up  when I was at the Carnivale in Venice Italy back in 2011. I placed her, her hairdresser and her dog handler inside the elaborate French chateau and another in the courtyard and even posted it as a Picture of the Week #162 a few years back. When I placed them out here the picture worked better for me and therefore I'm sharing it. This image may have been manipulated from two images into one, but it works. I believe they were there.

Picture of the Week #380 "POW Painting"  Shanghai, China 2015 Signed & Stamped

When I was in Shanghai for my "MAO to NOW" exhibit at the ArtN Space Gallery I walked out and saw this artist painting the wall a few doors away. I watched him for a minute and then caught this image before rushing off. Today when I was trying to figure out which picture to post for my Picture of the Week I saw this buried amongst the many images that I took when I was there last June. Graphic, powerful and contemporary it quickly became today's post.
